mysterious alnwick
For those who don't know, the town of Alnwick in Northumberland is the site of the second largest inhabited castle in the country. Alnwick Castle is the home of the Percy family, the dukes of Northumberland. Part of Alnwick Castle is open to the public and the castle was used as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
According to one website, there are all sorts of horrors lurking beneath the streets of Alnwick. Within the Alnwick boundary there are numerous plague pits whilst beneath the town a warren of underground passages exist, some of which are said to lead to the castle and others that lead to strange rooms. It is believed that odd 'creatures' live in some of these passages and are deemed to be so dangerous that Enochian magick seals are needed to keep them from getting out.
And if that isn't enough, allegedly, some of the Percy's from times past may well have something to do with the mysterious subterranean goings on…
